La Banca Europea per gli Investimenti: il braccio finanziario dell’Unione europea

The European Investment Bank, although present since the 1957 Eec Trea-ty, has remained little studied, despite its central role in the full implementa-tion of European policies. This article aims to reconstruct the origin of the Bank and its current position within the European Union system, including an analysis of its current missions and the role in the implementation of the Next Generation EU (with particular reference to Italy).

La Banca europea per gli investimenti, seppur presente fin dal Trattato CEE del 1957, è sempre stata poco studiata, nonostante la centralità della stessa per la piena realizzazione delle politiche europee. L’articolo mira a ricostruire l’origine della Banca e l’attuale posizione nel sistema dell’Unione europea, anche con l’analisi delle mission perseguite dall’istituto e del suo ruolo nell’implementazione del Next Generation EU (con particolare riferimento all’Italia).
