Abstract

The integration of an artificial neural network in a case-based reasoner is explored as a possible approach for recognizing user intentions during knowledge navigation in a hyperspace. This paper proposes a way of doing this that relies on retrieving useful stored paths whose initial steps are similar to those already followed by the user. An application of the architecture for the realization of an adaptive hypermedia in the domain of 'The Neo-Realism in the Italian Cinema' is also presented.
