The interconnected world of global telecommunication networks requires robust security to ensure optimal performance and seamless communication. The necessity and inevitability of increased bandwidth demand have prompted upgrades to systems and technologies, enhancing capacity and reach. However, upgrading networks and implementing cutting-edge technologies requires developing effective security techniques to guarantee the network's reliability. This paper examines several threats and attacks to the physical layer of optical network systems and discusses the current solutions. We propose a security architecture on the physical layer and utilize the optical identification method to strengthen the physical layer of optical network communication security.

Abstract
The interconnected world of global telecommunication networks requires robust security to ensure optimal performance and seamless communication. The necessity and inevitability of increased bandwidth demand have prompted upgrades to systems and technologies, enhancing capacity and reach. However, upgrading networks and implementing cutting-edge technologies requires developing effective security techniques to guarantee the network's reliability. This paper examines several threats and attacks to the physical layer of optical network systems and discusses the current solutions. We propose a security architecture on the physical layer and utilize the optical identification method to strengthen the physical layer of optical network communication security.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
