The paper focuses on the legal nature of the footballer transfer contract, both the definitive and the temporary one. The law of the footballer transfer contract is finally assimilated to the ordinary contract law, although it keeps its own typical qualifications. The authors show an effective co-existence and compatibility between the ordinary contract law and the Italian Football Federation regulations applicable to the contract governing the definitive and temporary transfers of footballers.
