Abstract

Measurement methods based on Eddy Current Testing are promising techniques to allow online thickness evaluation of conductive materials with suitable accuracy. This paper analyzes in detail some limitation of one of the proposed techniques with particular attention to the obtained measurement accuracy. The study is followed by the proposal of an on-line iterative measurement technique to improve the measurement method optimizing the measurement accuracy. A numerical analysis combined with an experimental campaign confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed solution.
