Abstract
Advanced digital simulation tools are jointly employed to carry out modelling, analysis and improvement of an existing industrial manufacturing cell belonging to small batch production. The real industrial case study investigated in this research work consists of a robotic manufacturing cell of the aerospace sector, which is simulated with the aim of improving specified performance indicators, such as throughput, throughput time and utilization of resources. Two different advanced simulation tools, i.e. 3D Motion Simulation and Discrete Event Simulation, are jointly applied to support decision making on manufacturing cell reconfiguration and improvement.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
