This paper aims to focus on key concepts relevant for defining models of urban development and dynamically analyse the changes occurred in land cover changes as well as in farming and landscape in sustainable food systems. The changing socio-spatial faces of the settlement development process in these areas are investigated by focusing primarily on the agriculture and land use distribution as well as on changing in farming dynamics. Nevertheless, the landscape is going to a progressive simplification of agro-forestry mosaic, with the disappearance of wide areas of the Mediterranean maquis, mixed crops, pastures connected with the loss of biodiversity under the pressure of urban sprawl. In Rome there is a complex network of farmer market, bio-scheme sellers, and alternative channel that we are actually mapping and assessing data about sellers and consumers in food short supply chain; such findings could have important theoretical as well as policy-relevant implications and the results coming from the present research could represents a preliminary research efforts to define urban food planning strategies in Rome.

Abstract
In Rome there is a complex network of farmer market, bio-scheme sellers, and alternative channel that we are actually mapping and assessing data about sellers and consumers in food short supply chain; such findings could have important theoretical as well as policy-relevant implications and the results coming from the present research could represents a preliminary research efforts to define urban food planning strategies in Rome.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
