This chapter explores the activism of Franca Caffa, a prominent figure in the fight against territorial stigmatization and social exclusion in public housing neighborhoods. Through an indepth ethnographic lens, the chapter examines her role in empowering communities, fostering collective identity, and addressing systemic inequalities in marginalized urban areas. By analyzing the intersection of gender, community, and resistance, the study highlights how Caffa’s grassroots initiatives have challenged structural discrimination and contributed to the reimagining of stigmatized spaces as sites of resilience and agency. Situating these efforts within the broader context of urban poverty and housing policy, the chapter critically discusses the transformative potential of collective action in reconfiguring public perception and improving the living conditions of socially and economically disadvantaged communities.
